Interfaith hospitality network (IHN)
IHN consists of nine area churches who host up to fourteen homeless people on a rotating basis. Zion hosts two week periods, three times a year. We are responsible for feeding and housing our guests. During our guests stay, volunteers provide dinners, socialize and sleep overnight. Together with our support churches, we are in our thirteenth year of ministry. To learn more visit our IHN Link.
Oasis Village Project

Oasis Village has been recently established in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia, Africa. This relief effort was begun
in response to the needs of widows and orphans, left destitute by the AIDS epidemic. At present, the village consists
of about a dozen homes. Land has been provided to help the families to become self sufficient.

FOOD PANTRIES
Zion has been affiliated with the Flemington Food Pantry since its inception. Our ministry includes furnishing volunteers to distribute food, ongoing food collections and Fall Harvest Food drive. We participate at Christmastime by donating Senior Gift Baskets to both Flemington and High Bridge Food Pantries, we also donate gifts for children through our Giving Tree and we collect hats and mittens and donate them to the Open Cupboard Food Pantry in High Bridge.

FAITH SOUP KITCHEN
Zion continues to provide monetary support to the Faith Kitchen ministry. This vital program provides approximately 100 meals per day to the
needy in the Dover community. In addition to monetary support, Zion conducts an annual coffee drive for this ministry.
WORLD HUNGER APPEAL
Zion conducts an Annual Appeal to benefit the World Hunger Program of the ELCA. The proceeds go to the battle against local and global hunger.
Alternative giving
Are you tired of buying Christmas gifts that people don’t really need or even want? Alternative giving encourages you to give a donation to a charity in honor of a friend or loved one. Each year several charities are selected for your donation. A card is provided for the recipient.
Backpacks for kids
This annual drive is conducted so that children in need are able to enjoy new school supplies and start the school year off on the right foot. The donations collected are delivered to the local social service agency for distribution.
Lutheran disaster response
LDR is a program run in cooperation with the national church to provide emergency services following a disaster.
Cover the uninsured (HC MAP)
This program is in its infancy and has been developed in response to the crisis created by the under and uninsured whom are unable to afford vital medications. For more information please visit our
