Zion's Mission Statement
Connect in Love, Communicate the Gospel, Commit to Christ.
As Christians we are all called to be Evangelists, people who share the Good News of Jesus Christ. The witness
of the Scriptures mandates that we offer hospitality to all. The members of our Evangelism Committee
and our congregation extend hospitality by reaching out to the community and welcoming each and every
individual into God's house.

To help welcome individuals into our congregation, volunteers are needed and appreciated. Volunteer opportunities include the following.
| Facilitate New Member Classes | Bake Bread for New Members | Prepare Mailings for New Residents and Community | Prepare News Releases |
| Serve as a Committee Member | Take Care of Road Signs | Advertise and Publicize Ministries and Events | Greet Worshipers |
For more information please contact Committee Chairperson Bob Durham at zionoldwick@earthlink.net

Greeters
When you come to our church for worship or any event, you will be welcomed by greeters. They are volunteer members of our congregation who will guide you through worship.
New Members Classes
If you are interested in learning about our congregation or the Lutheran Church, we invite you to attend new member classes which are held several times a year.
Shepherd Families
When you decide to join our church family, you will be partnered with a Shepherd Family. This family will help you become acquainted with other members of our congregation and Zion’s ministries.
Mailings
A letter of welcome and invitation is sent to everyone who moves into the area. Additional seasonal letters are sent out into the community at Christmas, Lent and Easter.
Visitors
All visitors are welcomed. A letter is sent to everyone who visits Zion, whether on a Sunday or during the week. A follow-up call is made to provide a personal touch and answer any and all questions.
Advertisements
Advertisements are placed in all local newspapers announcing and inviting people to Zion’s many ministries. Special events are reported and celebrated.
