Adult Education
Zion is committed to lifelong learning
and developing the faith of our adult members with a variety of
educational opportunities. Our members are encouraged to spend time with
the Holy Scriptures, question what the Word of God meant for those present in
Biblical accounts, and what it says to us today. Oftentimes we find new ways to think about God's Word only
after reading and discussing it in a group.
Please join us for one of these opportunities
and rediscover God's truth in the company of friends.
Adult Forum
Adult Forum provides an opportunity for
adults to continue to grow and learn on their journey in the faith. Discussions center on a variety of themes which change monthly. Previous topics have included Bible Study,
Prayer 101, Marriage from a Christian Perspective, Teaching your Children How
to Pray, Unbinding the Gospel: Lessons in How to Share our Stories of Faith,
and books such as Tuesdays with Morrie.
Adult Forum meets on Sundays at 9:45am in the Great Room of the Christian
Education Building from September through June.
Book of Faith
Along with
congregations throughout the ELCA, Zion is committed to learning the native
language of the faith – the Holy Scriptures.
We invite our members and friends to open the scriptures and join the
conversation as we study God’s word through the lenses of biblical history,
Lutheran theology, and the act of devotion.
Book of Faith discussions take place
Wednesdays at noon and Sundays at 9:45 am. in the Christian Education Building.
Discipleship
Once a month members and friends of Zion
gather for fellowship over a potluck supper followed by informal conversation
on a variety of topics. Discipleship
provides a wonderful opportunity to get to know our fellow members while
exploring the faith and learning from one another.
Discipleship meets on the 4th Thursday of the month from 6:30-9:00 pm in the
homes of our members or at the Christian Education Building.
