Parish Life
At
Zion, there are many opportunities for fellowship within the congregation. Throughout the year, different events and
activities take place that can appeal to a wide range of interests. Join us for one or all of them. Each one is a great way to get to know your
fellow parishioner and to feel a part of the Zion community.
Café Zion
Come join us at Café Zion every Sunday morning between services in the Christian Education Building for a cup of coffee, tea, or juice and a bagel. During the summer months, the scene shifts to the church lawn after worship for baked goods, a cool beverage, and good conversation.
Dinner Groups
Joining Dinner Groups is a favorite activity at Zion. After signing up, couples (for the adult groups) or families (for the family groups) are linked up with two other families or couples. The shared dinners are rotated among the homes of the participants. The host family invites a guest couple from the congregation to dinner. The food is delicious, and new bonds are formed within the groups.
Advent Parish Night
We end the year by gathering in early December for Advent Parish Night. The Zion family begins the evening by breaking into small groups to create Christmas crafts. Following crafts, everyone comes together for a pot luck soup and salad dinner followed by carol singing. Finally, we end the evening with Zion’s enthusiastic version of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”
Zion Idol, and more!
Many special events have occurred over the years. These include themed parties, pool parties, church picnics, progressive dinners, wine tastings, tailgating at the CEB, road rallies and Zion Idol, a bi-yearly talent competition. Who will be the next Zion Idol? Join us and find out!
